Sec. 30.01. - Purpose.
The council deems it in the public interest to regulate the size and time of display of temporary election signs since the council wishes to enhance the appearance of all sections of the city. The council also observes the common historical experience of the manufacture and usage of such signs makes them susceptible to vandalism and deterioration, thus causing litter and debris; and further observes that the display of such signs, unless regulated, has a tendency to distract motorists and therefore increases the potential for acts of unsafe driving.
