Sec. 1038. - Property owned by board exempt from taxes and assessments. The title of the schoolhouse sites, lots, furniture, books, apparatus and appurtenances, and all other school property in this Act mentioned, shall be and is hereby vested in the Board of Education of the Memphis City Schools, and the same, while used or appropriated for school purposes, or any other property, the title of which is vested in the board of education, shall not be subject to taxation or assessments while in the possession of said board for educational purposes.
