Reno Administrative Code § 6.17.010 Enabling clause.

Sec. 6.17.010. - Enabling clause. Nevada Revised Statutes 482.210.1(e)(1) and 482.398(3) provide that golf carts are exempt from registration by the department of motor vehicles and do not need a permit to operate on city streets or city right-of-way when the city designates the city street or city right-of-way as appropriate for the operation of golf carts, if the golf cart is equipped with an emblem or placard for slow moving vehicles; and operated solely upon that portion of highway designated by the city. Reno Administrative Code § 6.17.020 Definitions.

Sec. 6.17.020. - Definitions. For the purposes of this chapter, the term "golf cart" means a motor vehicle which: (1) Has no fewer than three wheels in contact with the ground; and (2) Is designed to carry golf equipment and no more than four persons, including the driver. Reno Administrative Code § 6.17.030 Operation of golf carts; where allowed.

Sec. 6.17.030. - Operation of golf carts; where allowed. Those streets, parts of streets, or areas as approved by resolution of the city council, a copy which is to be maintained for public inspection in the office of the city clerk and the traffic engineer, are declared to be public street segments where operation of a golf cart during daylight by a person holding a current driver's license is allowed in accordance with the Nevada Revised Statues 482.210.1(e) and 482.398(3). Reno Administrative Code § 6.17.040 Golf cart equipment.

Sec. 6.17.040. - Golf cart equipment. A golf cart must have the following equipment when operated under the provisions of section 6.17.030: (a) Headlamps; (b) Tail lamps, reflectors, stop lamps and an emblem or placard for slow moving vehicles; (c) A mirror; and (d) Brakes. Each of these items of equipment must meet the standards prescribed for motor vehicles generally. (Ord. No. 6243, § 1, 7-11-12)

Reno Administrative Code § 6.17.050 Operation of golf carts; unlawful.

Sec. 6.17.050. - Operation of golf carts; unlawful. Except in locations designated by resolution of the city council by a person holding a current driver's license, and except where crossing a public street at a marked and signed crossing authorized by the traffic engineer during daylight, it shall be unlawful to operate a golf cart on any city street or right-of-way.
