Denver Revised Municipal Code § 56-76 Required.

Sec. 56-76. - Required. It shall be unlawful for any person to open any sewer or uncover any public or private sewer, or to lay or cause to be laid in any public way or place or on or within any property or property interest owned by the city any sewer or connection with any public or private sewer located therein, except in strict pursuance of a permit from the manager of transportation and infrastructure. Such permit shall be kept at the situs of the work and exhibited to any police officer or other law enforcement official who may ask to see it. (Code 1950, § 338.6; Ord. No. 78-87, § 14, 2-9-87; Ord. Denver Revised Municipal Code § 56-77 Application.

Sec. 56-77. - Application. All applications for permits for the construction of building and private sewers must be made in writing and signed by the owner of the property to be drained, or an authorized agent, and must be accompanied by such plans, drawings, easements, rights-of-way, and other documentation and information as the manager of transportation and infrastructure may require by rule and regulation. Denver Revised Municipal Code § 56-79 Work to be performed by licensed plumber or certified drainlayer.

Sec. 56-79. - Work to be performed by licensed plumber or certified drainlayer. Permits are issued for the construction of private or building sewers on the condition that such work shall be performed only by a duly trade licensed plumber or certified drainlayer. Denver Revised Municipal Code § 56-80 Plumbing certificate prerequisite to issuance.

Sec. 56-80. - Plumbing certificate prerequisite to issuance. No permit to make any connection into a public sewer shall be issued unless the application therefor is accompanied by a certificate from the chief of plumbing inspector stating that all plumbing and fixtures appurtenant thereto to be drained conform with the requirements of the plumbing code. Denver Revised Municipal Code § 56-81 Condition on which permit to be granted.

Sec. 56-81. - Condition on which permit to be granted. No permit to construct a private sewer in any public way or place shall be granted, except upon the express condition that the city may use any private sewer as a carrying line for any and all sewers it may construct and connect or permit to be constructed or connected. The manager of transportation and infrastructure may permit and allow other property owners to connect with such private sewer upon the payment to the party constructing such private sewer, or any successors in interest, such proportionate sum of the cost of the private sewer as the manager shall adjudge to be just and equitable.
