Pension board—Authority to expend funds.
El Paso City Code § 2.64.100
in effect2.64.100 - Pension board—Authority to expend funds.
A. The pension board may expend reasonable amounts of the fund for the services of an actuary in advising as to the soundness of the pension plan and in recommending any changes which may be needed therein. Such actuarial evaluation shall be made as of the end of each even-numbered fiscal year and at such other times as may be deemed necessary by the board. Evaluations shall explore the possibility and cost of providing cost-of-living adjustments to retired employees and their survivors, and such other changes as the board may deem appropriate and timely, but no such change shall be made in the pension plan if it will later result in the creation of potential deficiency in the fund.
B. The pension board may expend reasonable amounts of the fund for legal, management, auditing, administrative or other services or support equipment which are reasonably necessary for the sound and efficient operation of the fund and in the discharge of the board's fiduciary duties and responsibilities.
