Columbus City Codes § 213.01 Department of human resources established.

213.01 - Department of human resources established. There is established a department of human resources consisting of a human resources director. The department of human resources shall have as its primary duties developing recommendations for human resources management policy, procedures, and standards; assessing and addressing the needs of the city's workforce; and developing and overseeing the implementation of human resource management policies, principles, standards, and guidelines. The department shall also develop and operate a risk management program. The department shall perform all lawful functions as may be directed by the mayor or ordinance of council. Columbus City Codes § 213.02 Duties of director.

213.02 - Duties of director. The director of the department of human resources shall be appointed by the mayor and shall serve at the pleasure of the mayor at a salary fixed by ordinance of council. The human resource director will serve as the city's chief personnel officer. The director of human resources shall have all powers and duties specifically vested in a department director by the Charter of the city. The deputy director of human resources shall serve in the absence of the director. (Ord. 2194-98 § 2 (part); Ord. 477-99 § 2.)
