Sec. 8-181. - Acceptance of towed vehicles from unlicensed wrecker drivers. (a) It shall be unlawful for a storage lot operator to accept a nonconsent tow originating from any location in the city from a wrecker driver who does not have a wrecker driver license issued by the city. (b) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) above and the provisions of section 8-117 of this Code, this section shall not apply to a nonconsent tow originating from any location in the city that is conducted pursuant to a contract with other governmental entities or at the request of a law enforcement agency other than the Houston Police Department.
