Residential service facility.
San José Municipal Code § 20.200.1030
in effect"Residential Service Facility" is a residential facility, other than a Residential Care Facility or Single Housekeeping Unit, where the operator receives compensation for the provision of personal services, in addition to housing, including but not limited to, protection, supervision, assistance, guidance, training, therapy or other nonmedical care. This includes unlicensed group homes that provide nonmedical care and peer and other supportive services for their residents' disability needs, and in which residents share cooking, dining, and living areas, and may, in some group homes, participate in cooking, housing keeping, and other communal living activities.
