doola vs Corpus
doola sells a yearly plan: Starter is $297 a year plus state fees, and its bigger plans add bookkeeping, taxes and annual reports. Corpus charges once per formation, itemized by state, and the only thing that renews is registered agent. Both let an AI agent form an LLC. doola's docs disagree on where its MCP server forms them: some pages say any of the 50 states or DC, others Wyoming only. Corpus's forms LLCs in all 50 states and DC.
We are a competitor, so every doola figure below links the doola page it came from, and the page says where doola may be the better pick.

What doola charges
- Starter: “$297/yr” plus state fees, with an operating agreement, EIN, registered agent and a mailing address. source
- Pulse bookkeeping: a 30-day trial, then “Renew at $300/yr”. source
- Tax and Compliance: “$1,999/yr” plus state fees. Business-in-a-Box: “$2,999/yr” plus state fees. source
- Annual state report filing is included in Tax and Compliance and Business-in-a-Box, not in Starter. source
- State fees “vary depending on the state, and are paid directly to the state through doola.” source
What renews, and how to stop it
- “Any recurring fees will automatically renew at the rates then in effect” and continue “until canceled in accordance with these Terms.” source
- The terms set out no separate cancellation steps; §2.1 covers deleting the account through the service or by contacting doola. source
- No refunds or credits for a partly used subscription period (§5). source
- The money-back guarantee covers issues caused solely by doola during formation, pays “account credit towards future services or a non-transferable gift card”, and “will not exceed $297.” source
First year in Wyoming
- Starter is $297 for the year plus state fees, “paid directly to the state through doola”. source
- On either reading of doola's docs, Wyoming is covered: the tools page says “Defaults to WY”; the API FAQ mentions Wyoming LLC formation, while the skill file says Wyoming LLCs only. MCP tools Partner API FAQ Skill file
- doola At least $397 (the $297 first-year plan plus Wyoming's $100 filing fee, before any online processing fee). state fee source
- Corpus $293 all-in, itemized: Wyoming's state fees, the first year of registered agent and the Corpus service fee. Wyoming page
doola's pricing page lists one Starter price, $297 plus state fees, not a price per state. doola's Starter also includes an EIN and a mailing address, which the Corpus total does not, and it renews at $297 a year. Corpus's total includes the first year of registered agent, which renews at $99/yr.
Registered agent, years 2 to 5
Every LLC needs a registered agent for as long as it exists in most states, so the renewal price is the number that adds up. At each provider’s listed annual price:
- doola $1,188 at $297/yr for the Starter plan, which also covers EIN, operating agreement and a mailing address; doola doesn't list registered agent on its own (year 1 is part of the Starter plan)
- Corpus $396 at $99/yr (year 1 is included in the formation total)
AI agents and APIs
doola
- The tools reference for the MCP server at mcp.doola.com lists “13 tools”: seven for the formation flow, six for status, companies and feedback. It also says request_ssn_entry_link is enabled per environment and is not listed by the server while off. source
- Every request except the public discovery documents carries an OAuth 2.0 Bearer token; PKCE (S256) is supported. source
- The MCP limitations page: “start_formation takes any of the 50 states or DC and LLC or CCorp, defaulting to a Wyoming LLC. The package is always Starter.” The introduction and tools pages say the same. MCP limitations MCP introduction MCP tools
- doola's API FAQ says the MCP server “lets a founder form a Wyoming LLC”, and its skill file says “Wyoming LLC on the Starter package only, enforced by the server.” Corpus has not tested which scope the server enforces; that needs a doola sign-in. Partner API FAQ Skill file
- submit_formation files with the formation state's Secretary of State, set only after the user “reviewed a complete summary and replied "submit"”. The docs describe no staff review before filing. source
- Partner API: LLC or C-Corp in all 50 states and DC, with webhooks and a sandbox. “Once your agreement is signed, you get sandbox access and production keys.” source
Corpus
- Public MCP server for LLCs in all 50 states and DC. Research and formation tools work with no account, key or OAuth.
- formation.checkout creates the order and a payment request (USDC on Solana as of November 1, 2026) that the founder pays; nothing is filed until the founder confirms by email.
- Or the agent hands the founder a prefilled link, and the founder pays by card or, when offered, USDC.
- A Corpus person reviews each filing before it goes to the state, unless the founder chooses to skip review on an expedited order.
- REST API with self-serve keys and an OpenAPI 3.1 spec: the keyless price grid and order status. It has no endpoint that creates an order.
Where doola may suit you better
- You live outside the US. doola says it works “with entrepreneurs from around the world”. source
- You want bookkeeping and tax filing from the same company. Pulse and Tax and Compliance add them. source
- You need a C-Corp. Starter covers “US LLC or C Corp formation”; Corpus forms LLCs and nonprofits. source
- You run a platform that needs webhooks and a sandbox. doola's Partner API has both, after a signed agreement. source
How Corpus prices the same thing
State fees + Corpus service fee. Choose your state to see the current state fees and Corpus service fee before purchase. Registered-agent service for year 1 is included in your total. EIN filing is optional and priced separately, when available. Registered agent renews at a flat $99/yr after your included first year. We remind you before it's due; you're never charged automatically.
Each state’s itemized Corpus price is on the price grid and its own state page. All 19 LLC services side by side, scored by one rubric with Corpus’s own gaps included, are on the full comparison.
Corpus also searches federal, state and city law. How that compares with Municode, Justia and the other law databases is on legal code databases compared.
