in effectIf the amount claimed for the damages by animals trespassing exceed two hundred dollars, the plaintiff will proceed by petition in the circuit court, wherein the proceedings shall be according to the practice of that court; and the clerk shall perform the ministerial duties prescribed for justices of the peace in cases before them.
