THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, MISSISSIPPI AND GOVERNING ITS
SALE ON SUNDAY.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen having investigated into and being advised of the
subject matter find that a particular section of Ordinance Number 445 should be amended to
better meet the needs of the citizens of the City of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and to further
promote the public health, morals and safety; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen that said Section
hereinafter defined should be amended without affecting other sections of Ordinance Number 445
and its prior amendments:
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, MISSISSIPPI, THAT SECTION 4:(b) OF ORDINANCE
NUMBER 445 SHOULD BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ IN ITS
ENTIRETY:
Section 4: That it shall be unlawful in the City of Philadelphia, Mississippi, for
the holder of a permit or license authorizing the sale of beer or light wine at
retail:
(b) To sell, give or dispense upon a licensed premises beer or
light wine during the days, Monday through Saturday between
the hours of 12:00 o’clock p.m. (Midnight) and 7:00 o’clock a.m.
the following morning and on Sundays from midnight to noon
and from 10 p.m. to midnight (the legal sale of beer may occur
on Sunday from 12:00 o’clock noon to 10:00 o’clock p.m.)”
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN THAT THE
REMAINDER OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 445 IN ITS ENTIRETY WITH AMENDMENTS
INCLUDING ALL SECTIONS AND SUBSECTIONS SHALL BE BROUGHT FORWARD
AND CONTINUED IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT AS IN ITS ORIGINAL FORM.
This ordinance was first reduced to writing, then read, considered, passed and adopted and in the
instance the Board of Aldermen of the City of Philadelphia, Mississippi, voted as follows:
Whereupon, this ordinance was declared legally adopted this the 1st day of June, 2010.
