Miss. Code Ann. § 69-33-9
in effectAny person who shall be found guilty of violating the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or be imprisoned not exceeding thirty (30) days in the county jail, or both.
