Miss. Code Ann. § 75-59-9
in effectAny person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment of not more than six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
