§ 20-4. - General duties of Chief and assistant chiefs. The Fire Chief, or in his/her absence, the Chief Officer designated by the Fire Chief, shall in all cases of fire have the sole and absolute control over all the members of the Fire Department. The Fire Chief, when required by the City Manager, shall report to the City Manager the condition of fire apparatus, and the buildings in which they are kept. The Fire Chief shall recommend such additions, alterations and improvements as may be deemed expedient. (Ord. No. 21843, § 2, 11-6-01, eff. 3-6-02)
