Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 20-1 Composition.

§ 20-1. - Composition. The Fire Department shall consist of the Fire Chief, the Fire Marshal, Chief Officers, and other such officers (investigators, inspectors, training, mechanical shop and firefighters) as may be designated from time to time by the City Manager, with the approval of the City Council. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 20-2 Control over Fire Department.

§ 20-2. - Control over Fire Department. Subject to the provisions of the Charter, the Fire Chief, or in his/her absence, the Chief Officer designated by the Fire Chief, shall have full and absolute control over the entire Fire Department and its employees, and shall see that the department conforms to such rules and regulations as the City Manager may prescribe. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 20-3 General powers of Fire Chief.

§ 20-3. - General powers of Fire Chief. The Fire Chief shall have general supervision over all property and employees of the Fire Department, and shall see that each employee does his/her duty. The Fire Chief shall designate which position and what employment each employee shall take in the department. The Fire Chief shall have the power to suspend any employee of the department, subject to the approval of the City Manager. (Ord. No. 21843, § 2, 11-6-01, eff. 3-6-02)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 20-4 General duties of Chief and assistant chiefs.

§ 20-4. - General duties of Chief and assistant chiefs. The Fire Chief, or in his/her absence, the Chief Officer designated by the Fire Chief, shall in all cases of fire have the sole and absolute control over all the members of the Fire Department. The Fire Chief, when required by the City Manager, shall report to the City Manager the condition of fire apparatus, and the buildings in which they are kept. The Fire Chief shall recommend such additions, alterations and improvements as may be deemed expedient. (Ord. No. 21843, § 2, 11-6-01, eff. 3-6-02)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 20-5 Fire Marshal and inspectors.

§ 20-5. - Fire Marshal and inspectors. The Fire Marshal and all officers designated by the Fire Marshal shall enforce all ordinance provisions relating to fire prevention and shall assist the Public Works Director, or his/her designated representative, in inspection and correction of fire hazards. Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 20-6 Fire station districts; inspections; reports.

§ 20-6. - Fire station districts; inspections; reports. Definite boundaries of the various fire station districts shall be established by the Fire Marshal. Each designated officer, as often as required by the Fire Marshal, shall make an inspection of every building in his/her district, and report the findings to the Fire Marshal. The Fire Marshal shall periodically make independent inspections in the various districts to ascertain the correctness of the inspections made by the officers. It shall be the Fire Marshal's special duty to enforce a strict compliance with all the fire provisions of the Fire Prevention Code. (Ord. No. 21843, § 2, 11-6-01, eff. 3-6-02)

Oklahoma City Municipal Code § 20-7 Ex Officio Fire Marshal; designation; duties.

§ 20-7. - Ex Officio Fire Marshal; designation; duties. Each Chief Officer and each officer of the various fire stations shall be Ex Officio Fire Marshal of the district to which he/she is assigned, and shall be required to perform such duties as required by this article and as may be assigned to him/her by the Fire Marshal.
