Miss. Code Ann. § 75-45-181
in effectAny person violating any of the provisions of this article or the rules and regulations made by the commissioner and State Chemist pursuant thereto is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail for a term not to exceed six (6) months, or both.
