## AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING HOURSE OF SALES FOR DOOR TO DOOR TRANSIENT VENDORS IN THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, MISSISSIPPI"
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Philadelphia, Mississippi, (hereinafter “Mayor and Board”) having studied and considered the matter do hereby find and determine that it is in the best interest and will promote the health, safety, and welfare of the City of Philadelphia and its citizens that transient vendors who sell door to door shall be limited to sell from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and no sales on Sunday.
Any person violating this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction therefore shall be, fined no more than FIVE HUNDRED and 00/100 DOLLARS ($500.00) and/or imprisoned for no more than ninety (90) days in jail for each such violation.
This ordinance shall be in force and effect one month from and after its publication as provided by law.
ORDAINED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this the 6th day of September, 2011.
The above and foregoing Ordinance was first reduced to writing and offered by Alderman Roy White, who moved its adoption, which motion was seconded by Alderman Ronnie Jenkins, and no request having been made by the Mayor or any member of the Board of Aldermen that said Ordinance be read by the City Clerk before a vote was taken. Said Ordinance was adopted by the Board of Aldermen with the results being as follows:
Alderman White voted: Aye Alderwoman Payne voted: Absent Alderman Nichols voted: Aye Alderman Jenkins voted: Aye Alderman Tullos voted: Aye
The motion having received the affirmative vote of 4 members of the Board of Aldermen present, the Mayor declared the motion so carried and this Ordinance ordained and adopted on this the 6th day of September, 2011.
