in effectAN ORDINANCE PERMITTING DEVELOPMENT IN FLOODWAY
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Alderman of the City of Philadelphia, Mississippi desire to permit development in certain areas designated on the map as floodways. This shall not in any way be construed as permission to construct in flood zones.
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINIED by the Mayor and Board of Alderman of the City of Philadelphia that from and after passage of this Ordinance, within the City of Philadelphia, development shall be permitted in floodways so long as the development is done at a level where any structure is above the level of the floodway.
This Ordinance having first been reduced to writing and read in its entirety and having been considered by the Board, there was received a motion by Josh Gamblin and a second by James Tatum to approve this Ordinance and the Board voted as follows:
