Jackson Zoning Ordinance § 201

For the purpose of this Ordinance, words used in the present tense include the future tense;
words in the singular number include the plural number, and words in the plural number
include the singular number; the word "building" includes the word "structure@; the
word "shall" is mandatory and not directory; the word "may" is permissive; the word
"used" includes "designed" and "intended or arranged to be used or occupied; the word
"person" includes a firm, association, organization, partnership, trust, foundation,
company or corporation, as well as an individual; the word "lot" includes "building
lot" or "parcel."
