## ORDINANCE DESIGNATING ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT FOR PHILADELPHIA, MISSISSIPPI

WHEREAS, the State of Mississippi has enacted the Mississippi Entertainment District Act (“the Act”), codified at Section 17-20-1, et seq., of the Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides for the use of accelerated ad valorem tax depreciation by business qualifying for such exemptions within the entertainment district designated by the municipality pursuant to the conditions as set forth in the Act; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Philadelphia, through its Mayor and Board of Alderman, wish to encourage the construction and renovation of entertainment facilities in certain districts of the City and other City activity centers;

### Section I. Designation of Entertainment District.

The Mayor and Board of Alderman hereby resolve that the entertainment district be defined as consisting of the shaded parcels of real property identified on the plat attached hereto as Exhibit “A” which entertainment district shall be designated the Entertainment District of the City of Philadelphia,

### Section II. Approval by the Mississippi State Tax Commission.

Application for approval of this aforesaid Entertainment District shall be submitted along with this ordinance to the Mississippi State Tax Commission pursuant to the terms of the Act.

### Section III. Effective Date.

This ordinance shall be effective upon thirty (30) days after the initial adoption and publication and upon final adoption by the Mayor and Board of Alderman no less than thirty (30) days from the date of this ordinance.

This ordinance was first reduced to writing, then read, considered, passed and adopted and in the instance the Board of Aldermen of the City of Philadelphia, Mississippi, voted as follows:
