Topographical and surface hazards—Protective improvements
Seattle Mun. Code § 23.22.050
in effectLand having topographical or subsurface conditions hazardous to the health, safety, or general welfare of persons or property in or near a proposed subdivision shall not be subdivided unless the construction of protective improvements will eliminate the hazards or unless land subject to the hazard is restricted to uses which will not expose persons or property to the hazard. Protective improvements consistent with the standards established in Subchapter VI shall be constructed, prior to final plat approval unless a performance bond acceptable to the Director of Transportation is filed in lieu of the improvements.
