San José Municipal Code § 20.200.897
in effect"Private instruction" shall mean instruction received for personal and professional enrichment. Examples of private instruction include, but are not limited to, academic tutoring, language instruction, computer training and driver's training. Private instruction does not include instruction received through a trade or vocational school as defined in Section 20.200.1075 , nor a post-secondary school as defined in Section 20.200.1065 .
