San José Municipal Code § 20.200.1200
in effectA "stationary peaking power plant" is an electrical power generation facility permanently installed on a foundation and whose main function is the provision of supplemental power to the electrical distribution system or transmission grid during periods of peak demand. The maximum number of annual hours of operation of a stationary peaking power plant is restricted by a Bay Area air quality management district permit and typically does not exceed one thousand five hundred hours. The typical useful life of a stationary peaking power plant is up to thirty years. (Ords. 26388, 26456.)
